Merciful Flight

   16" x 20" Acrylics   2002

After receiving my husband's diagnosis,  coming to terms, and dealing in faith, my husband and kids asked that I go back to painting.  Once I finished this painting, I sat back and discovered that it was showing me hope.  To the left of the painting shows a dry branch (despair), while the water flows to the right, there are sprouts of flowers and grass (hope).  Therefore, my daughter named this 'Merciful Flight', as the dove flys over.  Six years now, and my husband is in his second and half year considered a survivor.  Cancer has afflicted many of our family members some whom did not survive this illness, and so this picture is in dedication of 'Hope'.
